Scrap Heavy Equipment Recycling

Some machines are past fixing: burnt out, rusted through, or picked over for parts. We still buy them, haul them away and send them on for recycling.

What are you getting rid of?

Tell us what it is and where it sits. We call back with a number.

Past fixing

What counts as scrap equipment

If a machine would cost more to fix than it's worth, it's scrap to most people. That covers forklifts with burnt wiring, excavators with cracked frames, tractors rusted into the ground and shop machines that haven't been powered up in a decade.

Scrap doesn't mean worthless. Heavy machines are mostly steel and iron, and many still have parts that can be reused.

Fluids, batteries and tires

Old equipment usually still has oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant and fuel in it, plus a battery and tires. Those get handled separately from the metal during recycling. You don't need to drain anything, but tell us about active leaks.

Burnt or insured machines

If the machine was damaged in a fire or flood and there's an insurance claim, check with your insurer before selling. Some insurers take the salvage as part of the settlement. Once it's yours to sell, we can quote it.

Partly stripped machines

If parts have already been pulled, that's fine. Tell us what's missing (engine, hydraulics, cab, counterweight) so we can price what's left. We buy the machine as one piece, not loose parts or bins of scrap.

Still worth a call

Not sure if it's scrap?

Plenty of machines people call scrap still have resale or parts value. Send the details and we'll tell you which way it goes. If it's worth more running, we'll price it as a working machine. See selling heavy equipment, or browse what we take: forklifts, excavators, farm equipment and factory machinery.

How it works

Three steps, one pickup

  1. Send the details

Use the form at the top or call. Make, model, roughly how heavy, and whether it runs.

  2. Get a number

We may ask for a photo or two, then call back with an offer for the machine as it sits.

  3. We load it and go

We book a truck that suits the machine and the road, load it, strap it and leave the spot clear.

Questions

Scrap equipment FAQ

Do you buy equipment that's been in a fire?

Yes. Fire-damaged machines still carry metal value. If there's an insurance claim, make sure the insurer doesn't need the salvage before you sell.

Do I need to drain the fluids?

No. Leave them in. Just tell us about any leaks so the driver comes prepared.

Do you buy loose scrap metal or parts?

No. We buy whole machines over about a ton. For loose scrap, a local scrap yard is the better call.

Is a scrap machine worth anything?

Usually, yes. Heavy equipment carries a lot of steel and iron. How much depends on the weight, what it's made of and how hard it is to load.

Can you remove a machine that's sunk in or overgrown?

Sometimes. If it's sunk into the ground or buried in brush, send photos and we'll tell you whether we can get it out.

Past fixing? Still worth a call.
